This could be a very interesting and entertaining match. Monfils won his last match against Berdych after a thrilling 5-setter, playing some impressive tennis and serving very solid. Gulbis had a much easier game, winning 3-0 against Dutra Silva. I find it very difficult to choose a winner in this one.
Both players are in form: Monfils had a nice winning streak until he lost against Montanes in Nice and Gulbis is also winning matches very easily and gave Nadal a hard time in Rome. I believe that a lot will depend on how Monfils recovered from his long and tough match on monday. You could see at the end of that match that he was very tired, but the amazing support of the French crowd boosted him enough to win the match. If Monfils loses today, it won't be without a fight in front of his own supporters; he should definitely win at least one set. But Gulbis should be considered as a favourite in this one, I don't see him not winning a set either.
